Finishing up a bundle of stories of Monitor stories and getting ready for a possible reporting trip down South. In the meantime: I review two new books about Google in the Los Angeles Times. I review A.C. Newman’s second disc, “Get Guilty,” in the Boston Globe. Over at the Virginia Quarterly Review, I discuss why modern readers are drawn to retro-noir.
